The Secret of the Dome’s Stars

Louvre Abu Dhabi

The image features a stylized, cartoon-like character resembling a fox or a similar creature, with large ears and a bushy tail. It stands with its hands on its hips, exuding confidence. The character wears a light-colored outfit, and the background showcases a serene night scene with a gradient sky filled with stars and soft clouds. In the distance, there is a simple silhouette of a building and palm trees, suggesting a calm, desert-like environment.

A mobile game at the Louvre Abu Dhabi to immerse children in the world of the museum’s art.

Halfway between a treasure hunt and an educational course, The Secret of the Dome’s Stars is a geolocated game designed for children aged 6 to 12. Participants embark on a quest to find 12 stars, each associated with a piece of art hidden in the 12 galleries of the museum.

Guided by VOLPI, a friendly digital fox and guardian of the stars, children solve puzzles and answer quizzes based on clues found by observing the artworks. The objective of this game is to raise their awareness of art and foster their interest in museums and history.

The Secret of the Dome’s Stars is a free web app, accessible via a link or a QR code available on-site. Compatible with smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), it requires no download.

Offered in Arabic, English, and French, and soon to be available in Russian and Chinese, this intergenerational activity can be done with family or independently by children. The game is designed as a fun and engaging way to encourage families to visit the museum.
